CVA Guns Optima Elite

The CVA Optima Elite is a versatile gun offering a hunter the ability to change between black powder, centerfire, and shotgun barrels, the only tool needed is a screwdriver! Thompson Center has proven the concept to be immensly popular with their Contender and Encore line of interchangable barrel single shot guns. CVA, already the maker of the best selling muzzleloaders, the Optima and Optima Pro, was clearly not content to leave the field of versatile guns entirely to Thompson Center. The Optima Elite has been positioned to go head to head with T/C in versatility while offering a considerably lower price point.

CVA Optima Elite's are availible in .45 and .50 calibur 29 inch muzzleloading barrels with either blued or stainless finish. Available centerfire rifle barrels include 24 inch .223,.243, 7mm-08, .270, .308. and 30-06 in either blued or stainless. For shotgun barrels CVA is offering 24 inch 20 gauge, a 26 inch 12 gauge, both in blued, and a 26 inch Hardwoods camo 12 gauge.

Like the CVA Optimas, the CVA Optima Elite barrels are built by Bergara Barrels™, CVA calls them "one of the premier barrel manufacturers in the world". CVA also states "every barrel is produced on state-of-the-art, computerized drilling and button rifling machines that deliver custom match barrel performance at a production barrel price. Bergara Barrels set the new standard for performance and accuracy in muzzleloading and center-fire barrels."

The Optima Elite, because of its ability to accept modern cartridge barrels, even when purchased as a muzzleloading gun is classified by the ATF as a modern firearm. Therefore ATF form 4473 is required to be completed at purchase.

Like the other CVA guns, the Optima Elite muzzleloader barrels are drilled and tapped for easy rifle scope mounting. The centerfire rifle barrels are also drilled and tapped. CVA as well as several rifle scope manufacturers such as Leupold and Weaver supply several different types of scope bases and mounting rings.
